Loan Elimination to Save the WLAThe WLA is a non-profit organization responsible for maintaining the 404 acres of conservation/recreational land that abut the west side of Highland Lake.We (WLA) have an outstanding Note of approximately $150,000 that requires payment. If the outstanding amount can be settled around June 2026, the holder of the Note has agreed to lower the balance due to $110,000.We think that if we could get 100 to 120 property owners and people interested in keeping this land open as a mixed-use recreational tract to donate $1000 each, we could eliminate this Note. The WLA has created an option for a flat donation of $1000. The option is “The Adopt-a-trail sign program, " which has a donation amount of $100 for a family name sign, or if you have a business and would like a trail sign to advertise your business, the donation would be $250. The trail signs require an annual donation to keep them posted. Please make your donations payable to the WLA with the comment "land debt elimination" for the annual trail sign fee, or "one-time Special Fundraising 12-year opportunity." The Adopt-A-Trail form is included with this letter.Adopt a Trail Form
